«At the age of 13, John Matos started to follow the older teens from his neighborhood to the train yards, where he immersed himself in painting. After accidentally crashing the computer at his school, Matos adopted the name CRASH, and his tag began to appear on trains circulating throughout New York City.
By 1980 he transitioned from train yards to galleries, curating the groundbreaking Graffiti Art Success for America held in New York at the Fashion MODA art space. The show launched the graffiti movement that has remained active through the present.»

«Circle Jerks emerged from the punk underbelly of LA’s South Bay in 1979. After serving as a co-founder and lead vocalist of Black Flag during the recording Nervous Breakdown EP, Keith Morris joined forces with former Redd Kross guitarist Greg Hetson to form what would become Circle Jerks.
Unlike much of the unapologetic hardcore that seeped through the cracks of American suburbia, the music of the Circle Jerks was thoughtfully steadfast, yet relentless and ferocious in nature. Bringing together a potent, articulate rhythm section with earnest yet oftentimes derisive lyrics and themes, the band was thereafter heralded as a leader of the pack – and a force to be reckoned with. Bassist Zander Schloss has been a member since the 1980’s and drummer Joey Castillo completes the lineup as its newest member.»

«Los Angeles based artist VYAL ONE began writing graffiti in 1987. His specialty lies in using aerosol-based techniques to create mystical-like patterns and movement that look and feel surreal. Vyal’s trademark “eye”, inspired by his Chicano and Native American (Zuni) heritage, and his use of vivid color can be seen throughout major cities across the United States including Los Angeles, Boston, New Mexico, and Miami and countries like Ireland, Germany, Spain, and the United Kingdom. He has worked with prominent companies like Lexus and Red Bull and has even displayed work in The Getty and MOCA art galleries and more recently the STRAAT Street Art Museum in Amsterdam. While still actively painting today, Vyal also shares his time giving back to his community in Los Angeles through art classes and workshops. «
